Accepting an offer then changing your mind?

I had an interview today with Job A and one tomorrow, we'll call it Job B. If Job A offers me a job, should I accept or ask for more time since I want Job B "more"? Is it better to ask for more time or say "yes" but potentially change your mind if Job B gives you an offer? If you think I should ask for more time to make a decision with Job A instead of accepting, what should I say/how to word it?

If you receive a job offer from Job A, I would get all the details such as wages/benefits, and an offer letter, etc. (this may take them a few days to send you the letter) and then ask for 2-3 days to think it over and get back to them. This buys you some time and ensures you have a real offer with all the necessary details to consider. Then, assuming you've already had your interview at Job B, I would follow up to Job B with a phone call and say that you have received another job offer but Job B is really your first choice, dream fit, etc.. and ask if they are able to let you know if a job offer is forthcoming. Based on what you learn you can reevaluate how to move forward. You could verbally accept Job A and then renege as long as you haven't signed anything but keep you mind you would likely be burning a bridge that you might need in the future. I would try to draw the process out with the first job offer instead. Good luck, I hope do you end up with two offers. :)
