Accepted to SUNY Empire State College. Seeking information

Hi

Just found out I was accepted to Empire State College. Wanted to ask those enrolled to share their insights such as

What the classes are like?

How reasonable in the workload for a working nurse taking 6 credits?

What type of assignments are given? Lot of papers or a variety of assignments?

What is your opinion about the quality of teaching?

Do you feel the program is supportive or your on your own?

Anything I should do to prepare?

I've taken online classes before and actually enjoy them more than when the instructor is competent at online teaching. I have had a few bad experiences when the instructor tried to teach like it was a brick & mortar course for traditional full time students. I'm not seeking an easy degree but want to know what I getting myself into and if I can succeed.

Hi,

I know there isn't a lot of info about SUNY Empire here. But I'll try to help. I'm currently enrolled in the program and it's a great experience so far. I'm taking 8 credits while working. Assignments are usually discussion boards where you initially post a thread then respond to other post and papers in APA format. The professors have been great and respond quickly if you have questions. The program has been supportive so far and there are multiple resources to help you succeed. My advice is to read the assignments and look up articles in nursing journals pertaining to the topics. I'm having a great experience in the few weeks I've started.

Hello i am currently omw to graduating from an ADN program and am really looking into attending Empire state college for my BSN soon after i graduate. There is very limited information about the program and courses. If you would be so kind as too share any information or advice about the program and how it works i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much.
