Hello all,
I recently interviewed for a job and an department that I am really looking forward to working in. I received an offer letter probably about 2 weeks later after a slight reminder to the manager that interviewed with. I'm concerned, however that I may have accepted over too fast. The rate that was offer is quite low. Given inflation of the cost of housing and culture, everything else in this area concerned. I don't start orientation for another week and a half or so, but I am really considering emailing me the HR representative and letting them know that I'm going to need more money before I continue with the job. I'm just super worried that if I email them or call them after accepting the offer letter electronically, they may recind the offer completely. I'm not in terrible need of a full-time job right this second, but I was looking forward to checking the job and finishing orientation and having a good thing going as Winter approaches. I'm also going to finish my master's degree at the end of the year and want to start using that at the beginning of next year. I'm conflicted whether I just continue on with orientation and keep the job and with the offer that they gave me. Or do I say something now before I even start working?
