Acceptance letters for Shelton state fall 2011

U.S.A. Alabama

Hi Everyone,

I was just seeing if anyone has received there letters from Shelton State for fall 2011? The waiting is killing me let me know if any of you have received your letter from Shelton State.

Hey, the health dept would probably be the cheapest route. But if you would rather go to a regular clinic, I went today to Med Center North and they give them all but since they were not my family dr I had to also pay for a physical. They gave my tetorifice and tb skin test, then drew blood to test my hep b and mmr levels since I've had them years ago. They also have a med center south down 69S right by Outback.

Our signed acceptance letters and money for our background check/drug test are the only things due by July 1st right? Just want to double check to make sure I'm not forgetting something.

Yes. You also have to go online to schedule the background check yourself after you pay but before the 1st. The website is on that first page where it told you all the info about everything.

Oh yea, did that. Thank ya!

You are very welcome. :o

Okay I asked the director and she told me to go to American family care by the publix next to Shelton, so I went there bc she said they were offering discounts for Shelton nursing students on immunizations. I did try the health dept but after two days of sitting in the waiting room and getting nothing accomplished I decided it was worth the money to just go to a clinic. I still have to pay the cashiers office for my background and drug screen. But I also signed up at Hoover fire dept for my CPR. I just get nervous I'm going to forget something!

Laken, don't forget to go to that background check website after you pay shelton and order it. I wish I would have known about the discount at American family, oh well at least they will be done. All of our shot info isn't due until august right? I took the healthcare provider CPR course last month at a place in Tuscaloosa, I was in there with the entire UA new nursing class. It wasn't bad at all, just make sure you take the Healthcare level class and not just regular CPR class.

I've reread the info like 10 times to make sure I'm not forgetting to turn in something lol.

ha I know exactly what you mean I even re wrote my letter of acceptance before I turned it in, just in case I forgot something! The immunizations and CPR class aren't due until the aug 22 deadline I think. But I just want to go ahead and get as much out of the way as possible.

And thanks, thankfully when I signed up for the CPR class I signed up for the health professions one. But they really didn't say anything about it in the nursing pack. I just saw it on another website, or I would not have known!

I am signed up for the CPR class at the hoover FD also.

I know what you mean about reading and rereading the letter! I have read mine probably 50 times!

Just curious, have you guys been taking your pre reqs. at shelton? I was just thinking how weird it would be if I had class with some of you and we know each other! I am ready to see who I know at orientation.

I'm in...I'm in...I'm in! I'm just a little excited since I've been watching the mail like crazy for a week and nothing. I finally just decided to go to the school today and check. I'm go glad I did. Whew! the stress of waiting is finally over and some of those deadlines are coming up fast. Congratulations everyone. I can't wait to see you all at orientation. I hope there are some familar faces.

I have taken my prereqs at Shelton and my username isn't exactly cryptic so some of you probably do know who I am but that's ok since I'm so excited it's a wonder I'm not shouting it from the rooftops ; )

Meghantk, that awesome!! The deadlines are very soon! Especially the stuff due tomorrow.

I didn't take my prereqs at shelton. I graduated from Miss State w/ a marketing degree, started working last yr, hated it, and realized nursing is my true calling. I have not met anyone at Shelton, but I have a feeling over the next 2yrs we will all get to know each other pretty well lol. Do y'all know how many ended up applying? There were only 50 accepted

right?

Congrats! I know you are relieved! The wait was awful!

I'm pretty sure we will all get to know each other really well also over these next couple of years! I'm not really sure how many applied but I heard about 40-50 are usually taken. I know it had to be a lot b/c of the amount of people taking the teas.

Dos any of you know if we get to see some uniforms? I am wondering about the sizing.
