Acceptance of ABSN

Greetings to all the members of this forum,

I want to ask regarding accelerated BSN program are they accepted everywhere in USA ? Also I want to know what course can you do after pursuing ABSN(accelerated bachelors of science in nursing )

Also what are the good and affordable colleges for international students like me to pursue this course from I am thinking of BAT course from binghamington university of new York as I thought of cost effectiveness .

Many thanks.

From my understanding an ABSN is accepted everywhere in the USA. An accelerated BSN is no different than a traditional BSN since both are accredited by a national accrediting nursing board.

An accelerated BSN is still a BSN. One just offers the opportunity for second degree students to become BSN level RNs since we have already completed the pre-requisites and general education courses during our first bachelors degree.

I am not fully understanding your question in regards to what courses you "should" complete after your BSN. Once you graduate from the ABSN program, you take the NCLEX and begin working...you can however take acquire additional credentials to help build your resume ie; BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ATLS etc.

As for cost-effectiveness, everything is 2x-3x more expensive for international students. You'd have to either become a US Resident OR bite the bullet and pay the international student price tag.
