Accelerated RN vs. ABSN Muhlenberg synder school vs Universities

Published

Hello Everyone,

I'm in the process of applying to schools and completing prereqs. I'm down to a few schools and at this point I want the process to be over. I am interested in Muhlenberg's accelerated (NJ) program. Has anyone graduated from this school or at least was in the accelerated program?

Can you tell me your experience, advice (faculty, professors, work if you did while in the program).

At this point I know if it were a choice between the two it would probably be better to get a BSN but Muhlenberg is slightly cheaper than other schools I've looked at in NJ, DE, NY and PA and also Emory and it's 1 year. I know ultimately the choice is mine at the end but I just wanted to know is an ASN degree worth anything now??? I know many people have them but there is the big RN vs BSN debate. I want to know will I be able to work primarily in NY if I did go the ASN route???

Thanks

I went to Muhlenberg and it wasn't very cheap. What I can say is you'll become a RN sooner than if you'd gone to a university. Working as a RN and getting back into the school groove foot the BSN is very challenging.
