Hi everybody,
I'm new in this and I'm thinking about a career change to jump into nursing. I have a degree in education and the humanities. I have been a teacher for the last 6 years.
I'd like to take advantage of my degree with an accelerated program in nursing. I have found 2 routes if you already have a degree;
- US type accelerated course in 12-18 months
- UK Postgraduate Diploma in nursing
I have one question for each. It'd be great if someone could help me, cause I'm struggling finding information about it:
1. Are US accelerated programs accepted in Europe/elsewhere?
2. Does the UK "Postgraduate Diploma" count as a BSC in Nursing? If so, is it accepted elsewhere?
I will be turning 30 as I start the course, so I'd like to do a shorter version to start the career as soon as possible, but I need to be sure I make a sensible decision.
Thank so much for the help!!!

You should train in the country where you wish to live & work. Often accelerated BSN programs from the US are only accepted in the US. UK nurses are specialist trained (many other countries are generalist trained such as AUS, NZ, CAN & US) so a UK nursing education does not transfer to other countries without further training.
