Accelerated Nursing- Armstrong

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has applied for the Accelerated Nursing program at Armstrong for Fall 2014? I just applied and was hoping to connect with others so we could keep each other updated.

I do not. My grad degree is from Armstrong. I've been a secondary teacher for three years so it's been a minute since I've been in school :)

Do you know if the accelerated program is harder to get in to than the traditional? I am sure they would be thrilled to welcome back alumni. At least I would think they would consider an Armstrong graduate over another. Or maybe that is nepotism? Congrats on getting back in to school though! I know it can be hard once you have already started a career and settled down a bit.

How many semesters is the accelerated program vs. trad?

Kristy, the lady that did the emailing, made it seem as if the standards were set really high by all of the applicants for the accelerated. The accelerated is three semesters, fall spring and summer. The traditional is four semesters but they do not go during the summer

The lady informed me when I applied for the accelerated program that they were only planning on taking 16 students. So the limited space has definitely made it competitive. It stressed me out.

@aschamma Don't worry about moving to Savannah. I was there for four years and loved it enough to return. Just beware, it gets hot and the sand gnats are awful when they bite.

Well it's been confirmed that I didn't make it in. She said I was not eligible so I'm assuming they only looked at my undergrad gpa. All is well in the world, I'll just be taking my time in the traditional program :)

If either of you ladies have any questions about Savannah feel free to ask :) and hopefully we will still see each other around

Oh congrats!!! I am so happy for you!! So we will see each other on the 4th?
