Hey guys. I'm graduating in May with BS in Biology and I'm wanting to apply to an accelerated nursing program. My overcall GPA is a 2.7 but my nursing prereq GPA should be around a 3.5 depending on which courses you calculate into that. I am wondering if you know of an accelerated prgram that gives preference to the prereq GPA or maybe the last 30 hours of credit. I didn't do well my first time in college, but I came back and I got a 4.0 last semester, and I should be close to that this semester. I live in Arkansas, so I realdy know about ASU's program. I'm willing to relocate. The other requirement would be that the prospective school would have to allow me to finish A&P 1 and 2, and statistics if required, in the summer. Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan, you may want to give Research College of Nursing in Kansas City a call. I've been accepted into their ABSN program in Fall. Not sure what the GPA requirements are, but a call to Leslie Mendenhall would answer all your questions. Also, if you agree to work for an HCA hospital for 2 years, they will pay your tuition. Good luck!

Xexonaut,
I actually looked at Reserach College the other day, and unfortantely they require 6 hours of theology and 3 hours of philosophy courses in addition to the standards prereqs.

Yeah, it's true. Just so you know though, HCA will pay for those too, if you decide to consider it.

You can also do DANTE tests for the philosophy and religion credits.
I took Ethics in America and World Religions a little over a month ago...$70 per test and you don't have to sit through 16 weeks of class. Just a suggestion!
Hmmm...DANTE tests, that's interesting. The thing with the Research College of Nursing ABSN, they require that you take 15 credits at Rockhurst (the mother college) before attending NS, so you may as well make those Philosophy & Religion...
