ACc Austin Nursing Sonography Info

Published

I am currently doing my prerequisites for Sonography at the ACC, Austin, TX. Initially, I wanted to pursue a career in Nursing, but I heard about the waitlist and at that point of time, I wanted to do Sonography. That was my 2nd option. I also heard that the intake for Sonography is just around 30 per year where as in Nurisng it is around 150.

Does any body have an idea about the approximate wait times for Nurisng and Sonography? I would like to know your opinion about which career path is good - Nursing or Sonography.

Appreciate your valuable feedback. Thanks.

Hi,

They have expanded the program to try and accomodate as many applicants as possible. This fall, they took about 105 out of about 140 applicants. I got in on the first try. I had all pre reqs and co reqs and a 3.75 GPA.

i was just wondering...did they expand for nursing r sonography...

I was referring to the Nursing Program. They have aggressively hired a lot more faculty. I am told that maybe two or three years ago, the wait list was three years! Now the goal of the Nursing Program is to have people in the first or at most the second semester they applied.
