ABSN Duke Fall 2010

Hi All!

I have decided to take the plunge and leave my career as a mental health therapist to gain a BSN in Nursing and hopefully move straight into MSN program. Is anyone else applying to Duke in the Fall??:yeah:

Have any of the waitlisters gotten good news, yet? I'm still pulling for you all.

Aww...thanks, Abbie Grace. I haven't heard anything yet. Admissions told me it would probably be after the April 1st deadline before the list starting moving. I'm hoping to hear something soon since UNC is sending their letters out this week. (I received my acceptance letter to UNC's regular BSN program last week and the ABSN letters go out this week.) Hopefully, some people will opt for UNC over Duke due to costs, etc. and the list will start moving. Duke is definitely still my first choice though. Keeping my fingers crossed!! :D

I just submitted my declination to Duke & am mailing my nice letter. So I hope one of you wonderful people on the waitlist get my spot today!! Thanks everyone who was so supportive on this list through the admissions process. I'll be attending OHSU here in Portland but maybe our paths will cross one day. Best of luck to everybody!

Sarabear, I'm sad you won't be with us at Duke, but totally jealous of OHSU. :) That would have been my first choice if they didn't very strictly hold to the 3.0 cumulative minimum GPA... I'm one of those students with serious Academic Demons from Long Long Ago and they wouldn't even consider me for the ABSN despite me being literally .05 away from a 3.0. Jerks! ;) In all seriousness though, congrats! I love Portland, we're going there for vacation in May and I'm literally counting down the days. I would have loved to attend nursing school there.

Any fellow waitlisters heard any good news yet?? I'm getting a little nervous. I was accepted to UNC, but am still holding out for Duke. Unfortunately, I have to give my resignation at work very soon if I decide to go to UNC (and the State of NC will not let me resign and then un-resign if I get into Duke.) I'm going to contact Duke Admissions this afternoon to see if anything has changed. I was just hoping one of you guys had heard something! Good luck!

I just emailed admissions...and right after I hit the Send button....I got my acceptance email!!! I will be joining you guys in the Fall. I'm so excited that I'm trembling! Now I know how you guys felt in February! :lol2:
