About to work in Royal Brompton Hospital

Published

Hi all~

I'm currently an Australian nurse awaiting my decision letter from the NMC.

I will hopefully be working in The Royal Brompton Hospital.

Just wondering if anyone here is from there and if you have any tips for me?

I have heard great things of the hospital and I am very keen to start working there~

SnowNursee, Hi, Congratulations on getting a job in Royal Brompton Hospital. Can you please let me know how you got in and share the details with me, as I m also interested in working there. Thankyou.

Hi, Sandraliza. Thank you.

So my whole move is going through an agency. When I first signed up in February, the first thing they did was look for positions for me and interviews. Royal Brompton was one of the first.

I had the interview and they offered me a position. From thereon, it was all the other NMC requirements I needed to complete.

So yeah, I didn't actively seek Royal Brompton. But I was so happy to get offered the position after seeing what they were like in the interview.

Good luck to you~ Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi there. I think you emailed me so I shall respond in the email.

Specializes in ER.

Just as an FYI, its in Chelsea, probably the most expensive location in the world!

Be prepared for a commute, you are unlikely to find accommodation nearby unless you have a few million to invest. Even a houseboat on the river is over half a million. I would suggest looking in Hammersmith as its an easy commute, on the District Line, with a fair number of rentals around, or continue looking further west along the train routes, to Acton, Ealing or Boston Manor.

Nearby Earls Court used to be affordable, and home to a lot of expat Aussies and Kiwis, hence locals still refer to it as Kangaroo Valley!

This is very helpful, thank you so much! I'll need it when I move out of the hospital accommodation~ For now, I'll be in the nurses' housing they provide and I'll move out when I can.

It's only a 2 min walk from work so that's a plus for now xD

But once I move, I know I'll have to commute.
