Hi all,
I want to apply for UTHealth CRNA program. They have a prerequisite of "Organic Chemistry I", and their CRNA program director said lab part is not required for this prerequisite, and online class is acceptable.
Anyone knows any online class of "Organic Chemistry I". I found several online, but their tuition fee is around $1015 for three credit hours (without lab):
Organic Chemistry Online Course with Labs: CHEM 1
Also, I sent emails to local community colleges, and one replied me as:
"The lab and lecture are not separate on our campus and we do not have a mechanism to separate them. We also do not have an online either."
If I go to local community college to take this class, it will cost me around $56/credit hours. But I have to go to campus once a week for 16 weeks. It is 30 minutes driving one-way. This is very inconvenient given I work full-time.

You have found yourself in between a rock and a hard place, one that I was in myself a few years back. I also was applying to some CRNA programs that specified Organic Chem 1, while in my undergrad I did a blended inorganic/organic course, they wouldn't accept that. So I investigated taking an Organic Chem course and also saw that an online version was always very expensive (around $1000, not including the book) and on campus would require a lab and lots of time commitment.
I just chose a program that would allow my blended course as my solution, good luck with whichever route you choose.

I will start at UT Health's CRNA program in Summer 2017, and am currently enrolled in UNE's online Organic Chemistry course. It is extremely hard, and I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Everyone I have spoken to recommends enrolling at HCC or another community college and finishing it in person. This is actually my back up plan in case I don't receive the grade UT requires to begin the program.

UC Berkeley Extension has an online organic chemistry course. No lab. It satisfied the requirements for the programs I applied to and I finished the course in less than 90 days. Give it a look!

How hard was it? I know you said you finished it in 90 days, so how time consuming was it during those 90 days.
I would spend 4-5 hours doing each module which was about 4-5 hours a week. It wasn't bad. It's a lot of reading the textbook and the accompanying work manual thing to figure out the answers to the teachers assignments.

I took OChem when i was a young lad pursuing a Biology degree. Very interesting class but it took a huge chunk out of my life. Basically I spent 6 hours a day, 6 days a week studying to barely make an A. Day 7 was dedicated to drinking my sorrows away.

Weber State - although the lab is not separate, it is entirely online and the lab portion actually helps boost your grade. I would recommend it! You do have to have 4 exams proctored, but you can bring a page of notes with you! Lmk if you have any questions!
