I'm currently a student at Temple Univeristy with my major being undecided. Unfortunately my deadline to sign up for the nursing program has passed. I was wondering what would be the right choice, staying at Temple and applying for the nursing program next year or try to transfer to Abington Dixon. If I stay at Temple, I would be going to college for a total of 6 years, as temple's nursing program takes 4 years, versus transferring to Abington and finishing my study there for a total of 4 years in school. Would it be worth staying at Temple or is Abington a better school?
Thanks for any input, I really don't know what to do...

Temples nursing program is 4 years because you graduate with a bsn and abington is 2 years graduating with an rn. If you wanted to get a bsn after abington you'd have to do 2 more years. I would say temple is a better choice if you want to get a higher degree and higher pay.

You're not guaranteed to get accepted into temples program next year and you should have a back up plan. 6 years at a 4 year university can be expensive especially after the 4th year. FYI Bsn nurses don't make THAT much more. I live in southwestern pa and they only make $1 more. Also, there are many employers that will help you pay for your Bsn while you are working for them as a RN.Good luck.

I went to Dixon - i'd say stick with Temple and get the BSN done. Every hospital says BSN preferred. I'm 2 months after passing the boards and this job market is BLEAK (and that's putting it nicely).
