AAS or BSN

Hi everyone so I'm a nursing student at Lansing Community College in Michigan where they offer an associate's degree and certificate in nursing. so I'm one class away from a certificate to be a practical nurse then I can take the nclex and that's what I want to do. However, I'm considering not continuing for one more year to get an Associates in nursing and just apply for a LPN to BSN program at a university . My end goal is to get my BSN and I spent so much time completing prerequisites for my associates and then the 2 yr program. I feel like i could of been had a BSN. Any advice would be helpful. Not sure what to do .

My vote is to go LPN to BSN since that is where the nursing profession is headed. The LPN will secure a good-paying position, while you finish your BSN. The only downside is that you will have to take the NCLEX twice (LPN and RN).

I have friends who were lpns before achieving RN status. They tend to find jobs easier and that are willing to pay more then students fresh out of school with a bsn with no experience. Just my two cents, either way can work. This about which route works best for you.
