Hello! Has anyone taken AANP's FNP exam this year yet, 2016? I'm taking it in August and am looking for some feedback/advice about studying for the exam! Thanks!

See you are new here - welcome! If you type in AANP FNP exam in the search bar, or scroll through the student NP section - there are multiple threads with some great suggestions. My advice - get a good review book or sign up for a live or web-based review course. Just finished Fitzgerald's FNP review in Boston yesterday. Lots of information and some great suggestions on how to be successful on the exams. I am taking ANCC - but here are a few suggestions for you. Form a good study plan and stick to it! Pick a subject and go back to your assessment book, patho book, etc. Review the subject thoroughly and then do practice questions to test your knowledge. If you are finding you are missing quite a few questions on that subject - go back and review what you are lacking. Don't continuously review what you already know - a mistake some people make.
Hit post too soon! Both exams are testing your critical thinking skills to solve problems - not rote knowledge. You may know quite a bit about the subject, but are you able to apply that knowledge to find the answer to the question? When answering review questions - you need to determine what the question is asking you. Think in ADPIE - assessment, diagnosis, plan, intervention and evaluation.
