A sad reminder that life is short.

Nurses General Nursing

Just got a call last night with news that a guy I graduated with, from my ADN program, was killed Saturday night. He was out w/some friends for a batchelor party. Evidently, he drank a little too much and wandered off....to some railroad tracks. Not a lot left of him.

It's really a troubleing reminder that life is very short. He was young, had a new career in front of him, and was engaged to be married in the next year or so. His fiance also happens to be a nurse.

I see people getting diagnosed with fatal diseases and suffering almost on a daily basis. Guess it just hits a little closer to home when something like this happens to a classmate that is about the same age you are.

So sorry for your loss. It is especially sad when they are so young. It makes you want to take stock of your life everyday. We never know when we are seeing loved ones for the last time. Sometimes, the light that shines the brightest shines only half as long.
