A personal 'woman question'

Published

Hi, I dont know if anyone 'knows' me on this site or not yet, but I'll just reintroduce myself anyways just in case. I'm 22, and a new grad orientee in an ICU.

I just wanted to know if anyone can give me any input as far as some pains I've been having ~ Just to give my brief medical Hx... lol.....

I had an appendectomy in May of '04 (The day before my huge Med-Surg final, that sucked)

I was told I had a 3 cm ovarian cyst when I was a senior in high school, and they also told me it was still there when I had the appendectomy (they were able to see it on the CT I guess)

Now, I feel like I've been having sciatica pain for the last year or so. It comes and goes, but most recently at work it was so painful I could hardly walk. It was like, shooting pain near my tailbone on the right side... shooting toward my hip.

I'm starting to wonder if it's not sciatica, and that possibly this is the cyst thats still there (and possibly worse?) I am going to go to the ob/gyn as soon as my insurance kicks in (next week)...so I'm not asking anyone to diagnose me or anything, just wondering if anyone can relate or give me any insight. Right now I'm sitting here and I have a dull pain from the right lower abdomen (McBurney's point - haha but no appendix) all the way around to my back.... and I have that often.. ... well, thanks for reading this far to those that have. :-/

P.S. Havent had my 'yearly' in 2 years... shame on me, I know... what a healthcare professional I am! :(:nono:
