Hello!
If anyone would care to share their experiences applying for A-BSN programs in SoCal it'll be greatly appreciated! What are the chances of getting into the A-BSN program? Am I at a statistical disadvantage since I am a male? What schools have best clinical instructors?
I am currently on my last semester of my undergrad.
I am 22 years old male (hopefully this doesn't hold me back)
I will get my BS in Kinesiology/Exercise Science with a 3.46 GPA.
Dean's list about 4 semesters, but I messed up during my freshman and sophomore years.
Have 3 reliable mentors/bosses with PhD for letters of rec.
I did NAT through ARC and became a CNA.
I have about 100 hours of internship/volunteering at clinics and convalescent home.
Thinking of doing COPE program or TCAB @ cedar sinai.
I have all A's in my nursing science pre req except physio I got a B :/
I have yet to take microbio over the summer
Proficient at reading EKGs. took the elective during my undergrad did well.
I also worked and trained special populations with adapted physical activity for 1 year.
I am thinking of getting a EKG tech cert since I really liked the class and if it'll help with applications. Also I am thinking of getting an EMT cert to improve my chances! Not sure if ill get accepted any tips on how to improve applications will help out!
Thanks!
