A&P Prep

Published

Do you think it is a waste of time to take med-term course as prep for A&P.

My A&P is 12 yrs old...so it's been a while, but I don't want to waste any money. I am looking through the book, I know everything in the first 4 chapter so far. haven't really learned anything new, except some origins of root names.

I am already registered but I am thinking....do I really need this, when it is a course that is not required?

I still have time to get out of the class. I could use this money elsewhere.

it's been about 6yrs for me and i did not take another med term...grap a med term book w/ disk off ebay and do it on your own time! =) you probably need a brush up but not an entire class to take...i'm also finding as i'm studying for A&P the words are broke down anyway in the textbook

If you need the money elsewhere, I would drop the med term class. Waste of time and money. You can go over any necessary vocab as you go through the A&P class, because you will be learning it anyway.

Thanks so much, you guys are awesome. I am going to skip MT and save the money for my first EC exam. I want to start studying for HS, meanwhile I will take the A&P class at a community college, the rest of will be EC. I am waiting on my credit eval.

How do I study for HS, I have no books yet...I ran off the exam content from ec website, Should I purchase the books they suggest and go from there?

I am excited to actually start studying nursing instead of all that crap I have been taking at my university.

yup purchase the suggest books, i got all mine off of ebay (an edition or two behind the actual recommended one) for WAY cheap! my fundamentals books was 4.99 including shipping! check textbook.com, alibris.com, ebay.com, and half.com i only bought the ones that had the "required reading" under each section of the EC content guide. so far has worked well for me!
