Has anybody taken A&P II in a 4 week summer session? I wasn't going to take anything over the summer b/c I'm getting married, but I saw the summer schedule and there is a Monday-Thursday 8am - 1pm 4 week summer course. That's a lot of Anatomy lectures to fit into a 4 week period, and a lot to memorize, but I'd have it done before starting nursing classes in August. The wedding isn't for 5 weeks after that class ended, so no conflict there.
If you've taken it like that over the summer, would you recommend it, or should I just wait and take A&P II along with the first semester nursing courses? (ADN)
Thanks

I took A & P II as a 4 week summer class, and I would recommend it if you are fairly strong in science. It goes by really fast, and you need to dedicate a lot of time outside of class to reading and studying.
In my situation, I was also taking Psychology (Life Span and Development) at the same time, and I didn't work or have kids. The class met 4 times a week, and I would spend 2-3 hours after class pre-reading for the next lecture and re-organizing/re-typing my notes. I made an A in the class, because I put a lot of work into it. It's not going to be easy (We started with 30 students and finished with ~12 students, since most failed out or withdrew from the class).
It's tough, but do-able if you're willing to put in the effort. I would rather get any non-nursing classes out of the way first, and focus my time in nursing school on the actual nursing classes.

Investigste....find out who's teaching it, find someones who has taken that instructor b4 as to get insight into his teaching style you would be surprised to find that it might not be as scary as u think a summer class is. I was intimidated by summer classes as well but I investigated I found out who the instructor was spoke with them during the current semester to find out how accesible they were over the summer semester. I talked other students who previously had this instructor and found out that the professor was really good and didnt overwhelm. Or another option could be finding another section that has a longer class time and if it is not at ur current school see if ur school gives the ok to take it somewhere else.
Sorry so long but I felt the same way last summer and ended up getting all A's and now I am taking micro this summer.
Good Luck

I took A&P II and Microbiology as summer courses and it was fast and furious, but not that bad. I would not recommend taking A&P while you take nursing classes. Take it this summer and get it out of the way!

I took A&P II in the summer, but ours was offered as a 8 week course. I took Intro to Computers online at the same time (have a previous Associates degree in Business Admin), it wasn't that bad. I ended up with an A in the class, and enjoyed myself at the same time. I love science classes though, the hands on lab part most. I have to agree with the previous posters, if you have a strong science background and can dedicate the time, go for it.
Good luck. :)
