When I hear "inaccuracies" such as "there is white genocide occurring in South Africa (complete with a photo that had nothing to do with anything)" or "I won the election in 2020", I call them lies, made up things and conspiracy theories instead of inaccuracies but no it doesn't make me feel better to not sugar coat it.  It nauseates me. They're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats.

Well, I wasnt aware of what specifically other poster was speaking of.  She used the term "historical inaccuracies".  Perhaps she was sugar coating it?

She, meaning me, was referring to his West Point speech. If you had listened to his speech, you would know which historical inaccuracies. Such as, World War II ending on May 8. That is a real slap in the face to veterans of the pacific theatre.

The "feel better" behavior is that which has people avoiding listening to Trump speeches and ignoring Trump behavior to avoid hearing the lies and crazy rambling.  People feel better about their support of Trump if they aren't regularly reminded by him that he's corrupt and a habitual liar, lacking the common sense to make a commencement speech without rambling about trophy wives.

Your article clearly supports what J22 said.  There are two dates, Victory in Europe and Victory in Japan.  The war in Europe ended on May 8th and then in the pacific on September 2nd.  The date of World War II ending is September 2, 1945 when Japan surrendered.  I'm not sure what Trump said, it's getting a bit nit picky.   

Most likely Trump didn't write all the speech until he went on his usual off the cuff commentary.  I would say "inaccurate" and not necessarily that he was making things up or lying.  He certainly has proven he doesn't read much or know much about history.

Trump got good reviews for his West Point speech during his last administration.  This one, not so much.  He apparently went viral for his trophy wife comments.    But I'm glad he reminded everyone the job of the military isn't to host drag shows.  This is important.

Trump commuted the sentence of another killer.  I wonder if Trump or his circle of sychophants thought that commutation would apply to the 200 year sentence in his state conviction?
