Hello

Just wondering if there are any WCTC grads/potential students or current students in the program?

I graduated 2 years ago from WCTC. Tough program but I think they all are. You have to be an independent learner to be successful. .there is no spoon-feeding of information from instructors. I am satisfied with my education but felt like I was never going to make it through while I was doing it!

Thank you for responding. I was admitted to the program. I petition in September for Spring 15. Did you take pathophysiology? Did you find that staff was helpful and any tips? Thanks

I had to wait a semester between taking the pre-reqs and starting the core classes so I took patho while I waited. The staff being helpful depends on what you are wanting help with. They expect you to know your stuff, come to class prepared and participate. If it is obvious that you studied and have a question they will help you clarify. If you are fishing for answers because you didn't study they won't indulge you. Best advice I can give is come to class prepared, don't cram for tests (you will need the info later), stay organized, sign up for a peer mentor right away (someone currently in the program can help you get situated). Also, keep your eyes on the prize. It took you (because it takes everyone) a long time to get to this point, since you have made this long term goal you need remember that it is only attainable in small bits. Take it as it comes, stay strong, most importantly fake confidence when you need to. You must believe in yourself before anyone else will, don't sell yourself short. Good luck!

Thank you soo much ? I'm taking pathophysiology in the Fall . Did you get in the program on the first try 're petitioning?

I did not get in the first time I petitioned. They give 1St priority to those that are completely finished with pre-reqs. The first time I petitioned I was still in progress and had to wait until the following semester to petition again. I doesn't seem too happen very often but I think pathos gave me an advantage in the program. Learn as much as you can, you will see it all again!

Thanks for the information

I am a current student of the WCTC Program. If you have any questions let me know. If you're complete for sure I would take pathophysiology. I am going into second semester.

Hi I sent you a message?

I'm a WCTC student in Level 2 (second semester). I did get in the first time I petitioned and I was also an in-progress student. I was accepted 3/4 time at first but was bumped up to full-time as people started dropping the classes.

It's fun to see some other WCTC students on here! :) I've been a lurker on AN for 2+ years; it's a great resource.

I'm dropping off my petition next week. I'm in Patho now. I'm glad to hear you got in 1st time because a girl was ranting how "no one gets in the the first go round". So how are clinicals and the program?

Ps I'm glad you responded?
