UW-Oshkosh Accelerated BSN - May 2015 Cohort

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Published

Greetings!

I've started the application process for the May 2015 cohort, with the September 15, 2014 deadline in mind. I've completed the academic prerequisites, with the exception of Biochemistry; and I'm enrolled in that for this fall semester. Luckily, I scored well enough on the TEAS V that I won't need to take an advanced composition class. I live in Milwaukee and I've been taking prerequisites at Milwaukee Area Technical College. I haven't yet started my CNA training and I hope to have that completed in October or November.

Once I decided to leave full-time employment to concentrate on prerequisites, I started doing very well and am thoroughly enjoying my classes. UW-Oshkosh uses prerequisite grades to determine GPA, so I should be competitive in that regard. My TEAS V scores were quite high, so I should be in good shape there, as well. My definitive weakness will be my lack of CNA experience. Past UW-Oshkosh ABSN threads show the lack of CNA experience trips up many applicants.

Is anyone else thinking of applying?

So how did the interview go?

It went well!! The interviewers are super nice!

Don't stress too much!

I guess the phone interview wasn´t too bad. I have the online interview soon.

So I set up my email interview for this Friday. Again, pretty nervous since I don't really know what to expect.

Just wondering...where is everyone from and what were your first degree majors in?

Well, I have successfully completed both the phone & online interviews; I feel that they both went well! Such a wonderful, yet nerve-racking experience. Now the true wait begins. Fingers crossed all day, every day!

As for me, I am from Whitewater, WI. I majored in Biology with a minor in Forensic Science @ UW-Whitewater; it was an excellent college with very attentive & caring professors!

Wishing everyone the best of luck!:)

Hi everybody. I have my phone interview set up for following Monday.

I was on waiting list for October 2014. I hope I'll have more luck this time around. Their acceptance rate is very low - around 25%. Good luck to everyone.

Congrats Lanette on finishing up your interviews! And good luck Husicl on yours!

These student health emails are really killing me! I know it's too early to get an email from them in terms of decisions but my heart stops a little every time my phone alerts me to a new email!

I know how you feel! Those emails make me so nervous. When I got the email to do a survey I think my heart stopped for a second. I definitely need to calm these nerves since we'll be waiting for at least another 6 weeks.

Congrats to everyone for making it this far. Hopefully we will all have some good news to share with each other come December!

Thank you!! :) Yeah, I've been researching other May cohorts & it seems that last year the applicants found out on November 21st! I sure hope we find out that soon! My nails can't take much longer, lol.

So very anxious! How's everyone else holding up?!

Same!!! Can hardly handle the wait anymore. I just keep looking at my calendar and thinking there is a possibility we could hear something by the end of next week!!!! Eeeeeek!

So close and yet still (kind of) so far away!

Sending good vibes to everyone for patience and then good news at the end of this looooong process!!! ?

Cheers & prayers to everyone this week!:)
