I have an appointment next week, they dont have a lot on their web page as far as nursing entrance exams, what the schedule is like and how many people are accepted into the program. Any info. would be appreciated. Did you attend? What did you think of it? I am also going to apply at Cardinal Stritich and Im just exploring what options I have. Thanks in advance.

I am also planning to attend Bryant and Stratton RN program in September. I am taking my TEAS next week. Where is everybody else in the process. Anybody know what type of math is on the TEAS?

Why is there no waiting list for bryant and stratton? I would really like to get in a nursing program asap but also need some more positive feed back. Anyone else have any comments on this school good or bad.

I have taken and failed the TEAS at B&S, I spent countless hours studying for the math portion since this is a weak subject for me, if you are not strong in all 4 subjects reading, math, english and science you may want to study to better prepare, because the score is overall and if you do well in one subject but not the other you will need to retake and you only get 2 chances to pass after which you will have to wait for the next semester to retake.

I chose not to retake the test for several reasons first the program is so accelerated if you don't know your stuff you can easily fall behind, and I have a house to run as well as a part time job I personally felt I would be setting myself up for failure, secondly I was a bit turned off by the fact that no one even took the time to contact me and go over the scores I had to place several calls before obtaining a break down on how the test is scored and what score was needed to pass.

When I took it, they directed us to the office of the person we have been working with, and he went over the scores with us right after the test. Didn't they tell you to do that?

I took the test on a Friday morning, and upon completion was told the person I needed to speak with had left sick and no one was available to go over my scores. When I got home I went online to try to find out how they interpret the scores since I knew what my scores were I simply needed to know what was considered passing and how the scores were read. Needless to say I had to wait until that Monday to even speak with someone at the school and was even at that point directed to a voice mail. If I am not mistaken I eventually received an email informing me I didn't meet the criteria.

I see the entire series of events as a good thing because as I stated previously an accelerated atmosphere may not have been the best for me and the dynamics of my life.:yeah:

I'm not too sure how I feel about this program. I went to retake the test after missing the passing score by 3 points. I and another potential student waited for half and hour and then when we questioned the wait, were told that the proctor for the test didn't show up. We were told that we could reschedule or have our money refunded. They did not seem to be too concerned about how bad it made the school look. We had both come a considerable distance to take the test, and their customer service was not very good. The program looks good and a lot of my credits would transfer; but for now I have chosen to go a different route.

I am at B&S, starting my final semester in Sept. It is an accelerated program meant to be completed in 5 semesters going full time. I took it full time and because of a failure of a class I dropped part time and took longer than the 5 semesters. I will be there 8 semsters when I graduate.

The classes are hard and require a lot of studying on your own and with others. You have to be commited to the program with time and consistant studying. If you are going full time, you will be in clinicals your second semester. The instructors are well educated and very knowledgeable, most of them are nurses and still practicing while teaching. There are a few "bad" instructors, some of them have been dealt with and some are no longer at the college. Most of the instructors are willing to help you if you are having difficulties, most of them do not want to see you fail.

Since we have recieved a new director for the program, we are accredited by the NLNAC now. I have done clinicals at a few Aurora hospitals, Children's outpatient surgery center, and the VA. I have had some issues with some of the office staff up front but their financial aid staff have always helped me out when I needed it.

Yes, it will end up costing me a lot more than when I went to UW-Milwaukee, but I feel that at B&S I am getting more out of the classes and clinicals than I was at UWM. More out of it by having a smaller class size, instructors that are approachable and willing to help.

It is about $500/credit, books for the classes you can order through their "bookstore" but I get mine from amazon.com for a cheaper price. The program is 72 credits...so rough math it would be $36,000 for the whole program outta pocket without any financial aid. Finanical aid has helped me greatly with keeping outta pocket and private loans low. It is not cheap but it is an ACCELERATED ADN program at a PRIVATE college.

Umm for what the hours are like. Well for example I'm in final semester and will be in class for theory on Wed from 11am-6:15pm. So I am going to be at school for about 7 hrs but all my theory classes will be done on one day. They have tried to keep most of the theory nursing classes on the same day. It depends on what semster your in. Gen Ed classes are up to what ever is available and at all times of the day and week.

Clinicals are AM or PM. AM is 6am-2:30pm. PM is 2:30pm-11pm. Exact times are up to the instructor.

Fundamentals is 1 day/week for whole semester

OB is 1 day/week for whole semester

Peds is 1 day/week for half the semester (OB/Peds is together as a class)

Med/Surg 1 is 2 day/week for the semester

Psych is 1 day/week for the whole semester

Med/Surg 2 is 2 day/week for half the semester

Internship/Adv. Praticum is 80 hrs, schedule depends on which one you get
