WGU in different states question

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

Hello folks,

I'm currently a resident of CA and was looking to relocate to a different state to have access to 's BSN pre-licensure program.

I cant seem to find the list of states that offer the program. I know UT has them and really considering moving to UT, but am I able to apply before getting accepted into the program or do I need to be a resident first before they consider me?

I've heard that other states programs are not as competitive in regards to entrance like it is in CA. Just want to get the ball rolling and if moving to a different state is necessary, then so be it.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks NurseCastle, I did have that bond with my counselor and she would be able to tell you that I had that right mind set and attitude towards obtaining a position in the program. I was in sales and was very successful at it prior to healthcare and I do have that drive and impact that helps me to stand out. I will wait it out for the next cohort and see what happens. Thanks

Do you have all the prereqs done? That is the only thing that I can think of that might have excluded you is if you were missing prereqs and some didn't. I would most definitely ask why you weren't accepted. You need to find out the problem because it could be something you're not thinking of and another state might not help without knowing why. Your scores are higher than most people that I know of that were accepted into the program. The other thing I can think of is maybe you will be put in the next cohort and they just got all the paperwork for the other people ahead of you.

I like your positive thinking tsm! I'm thinking the same thing also. I made sure all the paperwork and requirements were satisfied prior to enrolling and provided it all in one file so there was nothing that could be missed. The counselors just told me that they would keep the file active for the following cohorts to come as I made it an importance to me that I would like to apply to all the upcoming cohorts. My friend told me the same thing that they probably have paperwork of other applicants ahead of mine.

Now my question in regards to cohorts is if my file will be transferred from clinical site to clinical site or will I have to continue to submit to each cohort/clinical site?

I have currently applied into the cedars cohort and the Pasadena cohort. But what's peculiar to me is that when I applied to the cedars cohort, I received a denial email from , but I didn't get one from Pasadena. I was informed from my counselor but I had to hunt this counselor down as she was new to me. My first counselor graduated from the program and I was handed off to another enrollment counselor. Kinda hated that, but oh well.

So, with that said, do you think cedars will have my info/application or will I need to fall in line again?
