DNP Programs after WGU

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

Hello Students:

I am a prospective student who hopes to attend WGU's November 2018 Nursing Prelicensure Cohort in Daytona Beach, Florida. If anyone has any advice on what Teas score I should be aiming for that would be very nice of you. Also, I am hoping to apply to a DNP program in the future. I was looking at Samford University as an option. I understand that they require one undergraduate course in nursing research with a grade of C (2.0) or better and one undergraduate health assessment course with a grade of B (3.0) or better. If anyone can confirm whether or not our curriculum contains these two classes and whether or not Samford University will accept them for transfer credits that would be awesome. I have emailed them about this and I am waiting on a response. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my message and good luck in your future endeavors.

Thank you,

All of the courses in the pre-licensure program are listed within the program guide, found here:

I'm from California, so I haven't researched the Florida program; however, I was told for CA to be the most competitive, shoot for 90% plus on the TEAS (which is the 99th percentile). I've seen other CA students on these boards get accepted with TEAS scores in the high 80%'s though. FWIW.

Awesome thank you for the information. I just hope those two courses transfer to Samford University.

Hello,

I am applying to the November 2018 cohort as well! So far I haven't seen any posts other than yours for our area. I am hoping to complete this program and move on to a DNP program as well, may I ask what stage you are in the application process now, it looks like this post was a few months ago?
