Dear nurses from WA, I have few questions about PRMC in Everett and would be very glad if I could get some answers. Thanks in advance!! Here are the questions:

Would it be a good idea to start nursing career with PRMC? Considering that they only have 6-8 week of training for new grads?!??

Also, do we have to share same religious views with Providence? What if I have come from a very different religion?

Lastly, any ideas about the work culture? support system? wages?

Just looking to figure out if its the ideal place to work. Thank you for reading =).

I would like to know more too...specifically about the quality of PRME's residency and if new grad's feel adequately supported on the med-surg floors. Also, I'm interested in knowing about nurse-patient ratios.

Thanks!

Providence just wants you to work with their core values : compassion, justice, excellence, stewardship, and respect. These values do quote biblical verses however I feel that they can apply to non-religious beliefs and the value systems of non-catholic religions. Most Providence locations will ask you to listen to Reflection (prayer) at the time of day patients are waking and at the time they are going to sleep.

I did a new graduate residency in Olympia and I found it to be very thorough, and i always felt supported in every position I've had with Providence since. Though I have never worked in Everett.

Personally I am glad of my decision to start my career with them. It is very easy to move from one facility to another once you are hired, and from state to state within the system while maintaining your senority. If you go to the job search tool on the Providence website you will see the salary range for positions you are applying for. Shift differentials vary depending on which facility you work for.

@ R*Star*RN Thank you for the info!!

What was the application process? How long did it take for you to hear back from them regarding an interview? And what was the interview process like? I applied for the jan 2014 cohort and still haven't heard anything. I keep checking online and the status says "under consideration"
