Out of state rn license

U.S.A. Washington

Published

Does anybody have an idea of any company or any place in washington that would hire for RN position with active RN license from another state? I know federal and military facilities do, but its so hard to get a job with them. Any help on how to get into federal/military facilities appreciated too.

For any employment other than Federal facilities/services, you would have to have a WA license. Is there some reason you couldn't get a WA license? Licensure by endorsement is usually pretty straightforward (mostly a matter of how much the BON charges you and how long they make you wait).

For possible Federal employment, the website is www.usajobs.gov.

Best wishes!

Its along story, however not a disciplinary issue.

Applications to the VA and Madigan not getting anywhere. I have been trying for a while now. Any advise?

Not from me. If you want to work in nursing in the state without a state license, you're going to have v. limited opportunities. It's still not clear to me whether you're saying it's impossible for you to get a WA license, or it's just going to be a lot of hassle. I would think it would be well worthwhile in the long run to do whatever you need to do to get a WA license, if that is at all a possibility. Best wishes!

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

If you are a WA resident and cannot get hired by the VA you cannot work in any other job as an RN without a WA RN license. There is no other option

It is possible to get the license eventually but I need some hours of RN experience in order to get one.

How did you get a job in the VA or Madigan? Anybody?
