Any info out there on Everett CC's program?

I am scheduled to start my pre-req's at EVCC, and was planning on trying to get into their program (met with advisors, etc.). I've done some research on this board, and there isn't much info on the strengths/weaknesses in there program. I know that Shoreline is considered a very competitive school - how does EVCC stack up? My long term goals are to go to UW Bothell for the RN to BSN program, once I'm done with my ADN. I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice - Everett is closest for me, and I have three small children at home. If anyone out there has some first-hand experience (good or bad), or even anything someone might have heard about their program (other than idle gossip :)), I would appreciate any info. Thanks in advance.

hello and welcome to the family of allnurses. good luck to you.

I'm doing pre-reqs there now. It is supposed to be well regarded (high pass rate) but I'd like to see the comparision of pass rates myself.

Some of the instructors have issues (of course) and have reputations that have travelled far to other states. There have been a couple lawsuits brought against the school of nursing and I think one instructor for discrimination against people of color. I do not know if those have been resolved.

I'd like to attend this college, but will do my pre-reqs and apply all over and just go whereever I get in, but at the price of gas, I'd really rather go closest to home.

I have noticed that the pre-reqs to enter the program at Everett are indeed higher than certain other places (more credit hours for A & P), the rest of them are very similar.

I know it's very competitive in the pre-reqs. Oh well.... that's how it goes I guess!

I just went to the information session for the ECC program. Logistically it's close to me, and I am very interested in attending. I have 3 quarters of pre-req's, so I hope to apply in the fall. Anyone else attending?

I'm in 2nd quarter right now...I too am planning on tranferring to UW Bothell for my BSN, and honestly, I would recomment going EvCC over Shoreline. Certainly, apply to both (and more!) but I feel that the application process at EvCC is so much more focused on the individual as a whole, and not just GPA. Make sure that when you apply you have all your pre-reqs done, and having your CNA helps. Its a GREAT program.
