Specializes in Surgery/Trauma ICU.

Do you know if all employees are approved for the tuition reimbursement at GWU Hospital? I'm starting FNP at GWU in the Fall..and applying for a ICU position at GWU Hospital. I would love to have help with the tuition!!!

From the website :

Program 1 -allows for reimbursement for tuition expenses directly related to job responsibilities or part of curriculum requirements for a degree in a job related field at any accredited university up to a $3,000 per year maximum.

Program 2- provides 90% of tuition costs to The George Washington University. Employees must apply and then be selected for this benefit. Employees are selected based on job readiness, job enhancement and courses of study that further the mission and business goals of the Hospital.

How do you determine which program you fit into to?

Thanks!!!

They changed their policies the end of last year so you can only get these benefits after a year of working for GW. Be very careful if you use either plan, they both require a time commitment of at least a year from the date that you recieved the money and I believe it is two years if you do the 90% pay for GW. If they do not have a position available for you in what you got your degree in, they have the right to keep you as a RN for your time committment. Read the info carefully before you sign. It is a great deal, but just know what you are signing!
