Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

U.S.A. Virginia

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated!

Yes, I had applied to Sentara but didn't get in. But If I get into Riverside I will go through the RN to BSN bridge through Sentara. That's the plan for now anyhow.

Wow same here!! I applied to Sentara and didn't get in either. Honestly though, I didn't think I would. They are SUPER competitive and I just didn't feel my GPA was high enough. For some reason I feel like Riverside is a better fit for me though. Its really close to home and everyone there seems soooo encouraging.

Yeah, I actually worked with a girl who was going to Riverside and one who was going to Sentara. It definitely helps to get their feedback about the schools and their programs.

Hi Ladies!

I also applied for Riverside's January 2014 RN Program. I emailed them yesterday asking if the deadline extension would affect when we get decision letters, haven't heard anything yet. During my interview I was told they would have decision letters sent out at the end of September. Fingers crossed (:

Ooh that's exciting!!

Yeah I'm starting to get pretty anxious. I don't know about you guys but I was pretty shocked to hear about the deadline extension...wondering if that makes our chances better...[/quote']

I work with a girl who's attending riverside and she said if they extend the deadline that usually means they didn't receive the number of anticipated applicants. So I'm hoping that improves our chances!

I hope it improves our chances! I got confirmation that letters are still supposed to be out around the end of the month. I'm soooo nervous, can't remember ever wanting anything this badly!

Me too, that's only a couple weeks away!

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one I can barely stand the anticipation

I'm so glad that you girls can relate, I wish you guys the best of luck! I hope we all make it. This has been such a long journey for me and I honestly can't see myself doing anything else. I hope these next few weeks fly by!

Hi ladies! It may seem like forever now, but before you know it you will have those letters :)

Aw you're so sweet! I'm just sooooo anxious. How's the program going for you??

Just remember we were all in that position so we understand :) it's going well! The teachers are awesome and it is all so interesting. It's a lot of work, but I don't think this term will be too bad
