Marymount University ABSN Fall 2013

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Hi everyone! I was wondering if any of you guys have applied for the first review for Marymount University? I called about 2 weeks ago and an advisor told me that I had everything in but online it says application incomplete? I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem?

Got in!!! But i have a question about the submission of your official AP examination what is that? Is that from High School credit?

Yes, that could be from HS, if you have credit from some AP courses that you took. You would have to contact College Board.

Got in too! Best of luck everyone!!

Hello! Has anyone made a decision on going or not? I am for sure putting a deposit down but I didnt expect to only have 1 week to think about it... Also I dont know the area, is it better to live on or off campus and is a car needed? Thanks!

Yeah, I was also surprised that we only have 1 week. I applied to several other schools that don't get back to me until April.

I'm going to the campus tour this Saturday before I decide whether to put my deposit down. Is anyone else going?

Yeah I wish I could fly up this weekend but its a no go...well if you put the deposit down you'll just lose that money right? You wont be tied down to the school and you can wait. Thats what I am going to do...since nothing is certain with the other schools.

I'm almost certain that there are no on-campus housing options for second degree students; from what I've read, everyone lives off campus either in apartments near the school, or commute in from the surrounding suburbs. If I get in, I'll be driving from 10 miles away.

The nearest train station (It's called Metro in DC) is actually not that close to campus, but they offer shuttle buses. For clinicals, students are responsible for their own transportation... So if you have a car, It's more than helpful

Oh! I spoke too soon.... apparently, there's information about housing for new graduate students AND 2nd degree nursing students on Marymount's campus housing page. I can't post links here, but the info is under "Student Life > Living on Campus > Housing > Information for Graduate & 2nd Degree Nursing Students".

Hope this helps!

Thank you!! But I don't know if it would be worth living on campus for what they are asking or if I should be off campus with a car. Im from Florida so I kinda don't want to drive my car up since I will be in a city with good public transport but I am kinda second guessing with the clinicals...

I live in the area and would recommend having a car. While not having a car is very doable in DC, the metro is not as prevalent in Virginia. Its very widespread and not near any hospitals.

Hi Everyone! I just found out that I also was accepted for the Fall '13 program! I now have to decide within the next 5 days whether or not I want to accept here or another school that was also one of my top choices. If I do decide to come to Marymount I will have to find housing nearby. I am very excited!

This is VERY true... Metro is not as widespread as, say, the subway in NYC. In fact, most of the people I know who actually live within the city limits HAVE cars.

If you choose to come here without a car, make quick friends with someone who does. :)
