Hello everyone,

I have questions about Hampton University's VA Beach nursing program and I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who has attended there and if they could share their experience and some advice. Thanks in advance :)

I haven't attended that school, however, I am weighing my options and wanting the same answers you want. I just checked their NCLEXX pass rate and in the previous year, I believe 24 out of 26 of their students passed the boards. That is the VA Beach Campus though. In this area, TCC has the best rates hands down, but Thomas Nelson wasn't too far behind either. Now, NSU and HU's Main Campus has some of the lowest scores and to me, the scores are a reflection of the program regardless of the student's contribution to the scores. The nursing instructors, to me, are the one's who have the greatest influence and impact on a student's success in the program, as well as the student putting the required effort in to study and pass, but still.. there's consistency in their low pass rates. Goodluck. I'm at TCC doing my prereqs, hoping that my GPA will become high enough for TCC's program. If not, I'll look into HU VA Beach Campus..

Hey Virgolove,

I did just like you and checked their NCLEX pass rates and they are good. I got accepted to NSU's program but something did not sit with me well there and due to other conflicts I passed. At the same time I applied at Hampton U-VA Beach and and got accepted into their program. I was suppose to start this Fall but I had to defer my enrollment due to personal stuff at home. I will definitely be starting in the Spring. I also considered TCC's program however Hampton U allows me to start sooner and I will finish in Spring 2014 which is the same time the TCC's 2012 class will finish and have my BSN. The competition for TCC's program is fierce from what I hear but as long as you got your prereqs done and have a high GPA I'm sure you will get in :). I wish you well in your journey and keep me posted.

Well let me know how the hampton campus is because I would love to get my bsn sooner but I just wonder how HU is with clinicals. I want adequate training you know..

Hey Honeygamble, I did a search on NSU and saw that you were accepted. What's their application process and requirements? Their site lacks information to me. I heard something about an entrance exam too. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any feedback/suggestions on the Hampton U Accelerated Program? I am looking to apply for the Spring start....
