Are you guys just getting the standard parking pass? Can you use it in most parking garages? I'm hoping since our classes are early parking will not be too much of a hassle.

Hey guys! I too will be attending GMU's nursing program! As for the parking, I believe we could purchase our passes starting August 1st, and the standard pass gives us access to any of the lettered lots C, A, L or K: http://info.gmu.edu/Maps/FairfaxMap13lttrColor.pdf
However, according to our student schedule, 2/3 of the known buildings we have class in are closer to the Shenandoah lot (purple on the map)- but I just don't know how expensive it will be. One way or another, I still expect a ton of walking!
I also put all of the books on the list (including the one class where it says the book "may change") in my Amazon shopping cart just to see how much the total is. Most of the ones I added to the cart are either in good condition or new because I'd like to be able to sell them back to Amazon when I'm done with them. Here is the list, and the total is at the bottom:

Yes, I actually emailed Margret Ream and she said we would get the packet during boot camp.

According to website it's $600.00 Yikes :Parking Services - George Mason University
I still haven't decided what to do for parking yet. $600 is hefty but the general parking lots seem far away..especially at 7:30am!

I went to GMU for undergrad and I tried both parking passes...honestly I think the $600 is just too much, especially since our classes are so early, parking is not nearly as bad...Lots A and C and the lower two levels of Rappahannock parking deck are not too far of a walk, I would say about 10 minutes into the middle of campus if you get decent parking. The only reason I'm saying this is because our classes are so early...hope that kinda helps!

Hey all! First of hello! Second I was wondering if you all might know any details about the orientation? Does it start the 12th or the 19th, and where/what time? I can't seem to find information on it anywhere! Thanks so much all!
Hi EllieLinton,
Orientation week starts on the 19th. You can find all the details for it when you log in to your mymason account. In the upper left corner click on your name, then the clock. On that page you'll find lots of updates for both the university and the nursing program. The document for orientation week is called "Boot Camp Week Information."
Hope this helps!
