George Mason Accelerated BSN - Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Virginia

Hi all! New member here.

Since the only threads I see about GMU are from previous admissions cycles, I thought I'd start a new one for Fall 2013. The deadline just past... so who applied for this cycle?

April can't get here fast enough... let the waiting begin!

Supposedly next year classes are suppose to start at 7:30 and be back on Fairfax. Just a heads up.

How did you hear that?? That makes a big difference!

From the head of the nursing department at a town hall meeting.

sKris: Do you know if the current schedule will still stand - only, all classes will now be on the Fairfax campus?

I'm not sure. I think clinicals will probably stay T/R though.

I just looked at GMU's course catalog, and you were absolutely right: all accelerated classes WILL be at the Fairfax campus for Fall 2013. And they start at 7:30am.

If I get in (and accept), I better spend the summer fixing my sleeping schedule - no more late nights like tonight. Unless I'm studying. :lol2:

I a NOT a morning person. Unfortunately getting up at 6:00 for my one 7:30 class is now considered 'sleeping in' by comparison to the 4:40 wake up time on clinical days. They told us preceptorship will mostly likely be night shift--I wonder how I'll adjust to that!

Is anyone else stalking their mailman lately? I hover in the door when it's about that time to rush out and see if my letter is here yet! Another day, another disappointment.... Maybe tomorrow!

Yes... for the last 10 days. I thought at least the letters for general admission would've gone out by now, since it looks like one person on this thread has received word.

I'm tempted to call the University tomorrow...

I've been stalking the mail as well for the nursing letter. I think the website or application said letters from nursing department would be sent by the end of April. I hope it's before then. I don't know if I can wait that long!

The official answer is the end of April, but in the info session I attended, the admissions woman said the middle of April. In one of the past years (I saw on a thread on this site) they received them around the 6th! I was accepted to GMU months ago - I couldn't imagine the double anxiety of waiting for two letters!

I got my letter - didn't get in :( Luckily, I had decided to accept my admission offer to Shenandoah. I couldn't get my five kids to day care and be in class by 7:30 at GMU! Good luck to the rest of you!

My letter arrived, and I got in! :)

rbfrisk, I'm sorry to here about GMU for you, but excited that you had already decided on Shenandoah! As my mother (and grandmother) would say, "Everything happens for a reason." GMU's schedule is going to be insane, so it's great that Shenandoah will fit well into the lives of you and your family. And depending on where you live, you'll be heading away from rush hour craziness.

Good luck to you and all the other applicants!
