UT Arlington Spring 2014 Traditional

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

I am applying to the traditional program, at UTA, for Spring 2014. I am so worried and wondering what the applicant pool is looking like, for this semester. Can anyone who sees this post their GPA and considerations, so I can see, if I have a good chance of getting in? I thought this might put others' minds at ease, as well.

Here's mine:

Prerequisite GPA: 3.76

Science GPA: 4.0

No considerations.

Post yours! :)

I got in! Congrats everyone!

I am cautiously optimistic though because I have a criminal record, so I have to wait for the board of nursing to clear me before I can start the program. I sent in my forms weeks ago, but they said it could take a while. Wish me luck, everyone! Anyone else know anyone who has become a nurse with a criminal background?

I know someone that had a meeting in Austin and she is placed on some probationary guidelines. She will have more reviews and etc than a nurse with no background.

So....I'm looking at the Spring schedule and I have a few questions. I've been taking classes at UTA for a little over a year now, but all online. I was accepted to the on campus program so I'm trying to wrap my head around actually *going* to class. Looks like we will be taking N3333 Health Promotion and illness prevention across the lifespan, N3320 Holistic Health Assessment, and N3632 Clinical foundations. I see the later two classes have class times listed but N3333 looks like it is only offered online. Is that right? If yes, I will only have to be in class M and T 8-10 plus clinical times.

Malorymug thanks for looking all this up, I'm in the same boat as you, been taking online classes, but now going to the on campus program. I hope your right, it would be so nice to only have to drive to school a couple days per week.

So am I reading page 5 of the welcome letter wrong or is the Oct.28 deadline a typo. We don't have access to blackboard until Nov. 1st, how can we upload criminal record info by 10/28?

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm guessing we can still go to the background check website, put in our info, pay and then have it sent to uta, then once November gets here we can download the date that we submitted it onto blackboard. Is that what everyone else is understanding?

Yes that's what I'm understanding also. I hope that's the case. Let me email my advisor to make sure.

I just looked it up and I see the same thing. I really hope so because I have to keep my full time job at night, at least for this semester. Going to class will be hard because I am so used to online courses. I stay in Mesquite so that will be a drive for me, but twice a week isn't bad.

I thought I read that the background check had to be in a certain date range, but maybe that is just the drug test. I went to the website and it looks to me like we can't do it yet. Anyone else having the same experience?

I think it is a typo on our sheet. I think it should read "Nov. 28" instead of "Oct. 28". I have an email into my advisor.

I submitted my background check through the group one website already

Does anybody know if we can get medical insurance for the program at the health center at uta? I know they have medical plans for uta students through blue cross blue shield texas
