RN-BSN online at UTA Arlington

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello everyone,

I just started my RN-BSN course at UTA online. The reason I chose this route is because UTA allows you to get into the program while you are still taking pre-requisites. However, I am finding the technical writing class (required), a little difficult and my academic advisor not very helpful. The instructions are not clear and I am feeling a little frustrated. The nursing courses are great, the advisor is very helpful and the instructions are clear. I just wanted to hear from other nurses out here who have been through this course at UTA or who are currently enrolled. Thanks!

Thanks so much for all the information. I highly appreciate. I will definately drop one of the classes, may be technical writting and concentrate on one. Are you done with the program and how long did it take you? Did you have to do history 1 & 11, Algebra, and literature? would you recomend me to take them from that school or a school of my own choice. Thanks.

I am in my third week of Technical Writing and Prof Nursing. So far the work has been do-able. I spend a lot of time on the work, but I am doing very well so I guess it is paying off. I think it depends on how much time you have and what you want out of it. If you do not have a strong writing background, then it might be best to take them one at a time. If you are a decent writer then get them out of the way together.

These are the only classes I have taken at UTA so I cannot advise you on the other courses. However, so far I have been happy with the program.

Hi

Thanks alot for everything. I really appreciate. Am not a good writter so it is best for me to take one class at a time. I wish you well in your studies. Can i get back to you if i experience difficulties in my studies? I hope am not bothering you so much. Thanks for everything. Be blessed.

Good luck with your classes, I am sure you will do fine. The advantage of taking one at a time is that it will ease you into study mode and give you an idea how the classes are run. I am sure you will do fine! My advice is to really pay attention to what needs to be done at the start of the week and plan your schedule accordingly. You can always use this forum to post questions or PM members. However, once your classes start you might find your TA's very helpful so use them as much as possible. I know one of my TA's in particular is awesome!

Hey everyone,

Quick question: I applied for the RN-BSN program hoping to start on January 16th, but have yet to hear from my advisor. I have e-mailed on 3 separate occasions but still no response. Can anyone tell me how long the process takes or something else I can do to get a response as to the status? I go on MyMav but all it tells me is that everything is under review. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks. ;)

I got my acceptance today and course map. It stated starting on the 16th but I think I'm going to put it off until Feb 27th. They took a lot of my credits and I'm hoping to be done in the 13months.

Good luck to everyone starting.

I start 2/27 as well. What classes are you taking? I am enrolled in technical writing and elementary statistics will follow for 8 weeks.

Sorry it took me a minute to respond.

I'm taking technical writing only and it starts Monday. I just started my new hospital position and wanted to keep it light for now.

Its ok, I am sure you are busy.

I am in the same boat- keeping it light until I get a real feel for it. Right after technical writing I start statistics 3/26 which I am more nervous about than tech writing. One class at a time for now...

Good luck!!!!

I hear you. I have heard horror stories about statistics and do not look forward to starting it at all.

From what I've read technical writing isn't to bad.

Good luck to you. =)
