Problems registering for research?

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

I was trying to register for research and capstone, among other courses today but it wouldn't let me register for research and capstone as it says I haven't met the requirements.

I vaguely remember hearing I couldn't register for capstone until all nursing courses were competed, but what about research?

I got an email saying my advisor won't respond for 48hrs so I figured I would ask here to see?

Thanks!

I don't think you can do Capstone with Research. It is one of the requirements for Capstone. I took Capstone by itself at end of program.

I wasn't registering for them at the same time - sorry not to clarify that! Research was for early in the semester and capstone was at the end.

You MUST take research before you are eligible to take capstone. Capstone must be the last nursing course you take and it can only be taken with general edu class ex. History, math etc

Do you already have your stats class? That is required before Research!

You advisor is the one that register you for capstone...they won't until all the requirement are met. Not sure why you are not able to register for research...have you taken statistic yet? Statistic must be taken before you can register for research.

Yes! I got a C in statistics and suffered through it back in college. Stats and physics are my academic nightmares (since I'm pre-research ;-)) but it was transferred over so that shouldn't be the issue....I hate not being able to talk to someone immediately but such as life. I just don't like the factory feel I'm getting with a generic email essentially telling me of my wait time on a response. I never had this issue with my last advisor before they switched them all.

You can try calling the office--I've done that a couple of times while my advisor was out on leave, and I was able to get assistance that way.

Thanks for the advice. I think that's just what I'll do. I realized I took stats twice when I was in college back in '02 and '03 and the first time I withdrew late and got an F (ahh...my pre-4.0-obsessed days) and the second time I was on point to get a B but bombed the final as my grandfather had passed away and I didn't have time to study.

My concern now is that they only saw the bad grade and not the C and didn't transfer over my stats...
