Heyeveryone,

I'm starting Nursing Leadership and Management class on Monday4/7/14, who is going with me? For those who have done this class, how do yousee it? Do we have textbook for this class? I want to start my preparations early;any input will be highly appreciated. Thank you all!!

I'm in this class starting this Monday. Class is already available on black board. Hope this is not a bad sign.

Specializes in ICU.

I have to shadow someone? Ughhh...... can't wait to pick a manager at my new job to bother. I'm sure someone won't mind but I hate to ask not having worked there long.

Took this class in January, made an A. Assignments are not bad. Only time consuming assignment was the Changes Theories project power point. Overall not a bad class. Good Luck to everyone.

Anyone else having trouble scheduling their shadowing?? I emailed my coach, but I feel like it sounds an awful lot like 'I-waited-until-the-last-minute-and-need-an-extension' even though that's not the case.

I met with my supervisor for an hour. Literally. Wasn't long at all. They didn't have the time to be bothered and my AC was pretty accommodating.

I scheduled mine today Friday. My DON agreed to my request and I will have it done asap. So far it has been good, but i dont know how to do the power point theory project. Good luck to you all, we will get there.

The shadowing portion of the class was easy, but be aware that you have to write about that experience twice. The organizational experience is three different papers, two specifically about the nurse leader. The kicker in this class was the power point presentation-I gave myself two days to write it! There is a reason they bring it up in the first week-start early, less stress. The financial assignment was not as easy as it seemed. Instructions were vague (and conflicting), and even though I went over each number about ten times, I still was off. and only recieved a 90%. Before I became a nurse, I was a medical biller-so that really upset me. No quizzes, but make sure to put time into the situational analysis. Overall-I did spend less time on this class than others, excepting the power point. Hope this helps you all!
