What specialties do you to do for your clinicals?

These are the clinical areas I had to do...

Jr1: Foundations/Assessments

Jr2: Psych and MedSurg

Sr1: Pedi, Critical Care, and OB

Sr2: Community, Management, and Capstone.

Is this what you're asking about?

Don

Yes, that is what I am asking about! Thanks

How long were the clinicals? Did you go on campus or did you do the online AP?

Jr1: 180 clinical hours of Foundations and Assessments

Jr2: 90 clinical hours each for Psych and MedSurg

Sr1: 90 clinical hours each for Peds, Critical Care, and OB

Sr2: 90 clinical hours each Community, 45 clinical hours for Management, and 135 clinical hours for Capstone.

The actual schedule for each clinical can and does vary semester to semester. I performed my Jr1 clinical hours during the weekend, however during the community clinical, it was during the weekdays.

Take care,

Don

Forgot to mention that I did the AP-BSN program.

Thank you, dlwoodjr.

How many days is that dlwoodjr? 180 clinical hours= 15 days? Is that right?

Looking back at my schedule for that semester (Jr1), we spent 2 days a week in the clinical location for 11 weeks... These were not 12 hour shifts during the Jr1 semester.

Don

Do you do your clinicals alone or with your classmates? Do you even get to know your class mates since it is all online?

Yes, you definitely know your clinical group... The AP-BSN program is structured with the lectures being online, but your clinical is based in a hospital. During your first 2 semesters, you definitely are with your group, but Community and Capstone are done with your individual preceptors.
