What Do I Do Now???

First assignment, thought I had everything covered, right? WRONG!! I go for orientation, getting almost 2 wks. Cool!. So, I'm reading the orientation schedule and something doesn't seem right. Call my recruiter. He and I are on the same page. Great!. Then I get a message from the instructor to call my office. BIG SCREWUP! The coordinator that the sister hospital is saying I'm at the wrong hospital. NOW WAIT A MINUTE!. Call my recruiter, speak with him and his manager. Long story short, it's the sister hospital or nothing. The company asks if I'll give the client 2 wks? I don't think so. I had made notes on where I'd been offered the job and I don't feel that I should have to honor something that I DID NOT ACCEPT. So here I go again, starting the whole process over. I can't afford to be out too long. I have bills to pay. The one bright side is that I learned several lessons this first time out and I wasn't half way cross country. I guess an old dog and learn a few new tricks. LOL

Why don't you look at this as an opportunity to do some bargaining. Remember that the recruiter doesn't want to lose the contract altogether; so, taking less of a cut (profit) might just be better than nothing at all. Obviously, there is no enforceable contract right now, unless you verbally agree to go to the other hospital. Make it worth your while by getting at least $5.00 per hour more & a travel reimbursement/gas allowance/whatever you want to call it, for the extra distance you will have to go to the other hospital. You might just be in the position to make this assignment quite lucrative.
