I am from WA state but now live in FL. A lot of the big city hospitals like over in the Seattle area do not take travelers (or so I am told, havent done any research on it yet) but the town I am from has a really nice hospital. Small town so small hospital but friendly and helpful staff. The town is Wenatchee WA Hospital is Central Washington Hospital. Nurising ratios are 4 or 5 to 1 on the floors and 4 to 1 in the PCU. And 1 or 2 to one in the ICU. If you like a small town you would probably like it. Plus it is really beautiful there and lots of outdoor activities all year around.

University of Washington Hospital in Seattle uses lots of travelers -- at least they did when I was there two years ago. Seattle is a great place to be -- mild weather all year round. You can go skiing in the mountains in the morning and sailing on the sound in the afternoon. The mountains are beautiful, and the people are friendly. It's a great place.

I lived in Eastern Washington for five years, also a beautiful place. But the weather isn't as mild, and I didn't see ANY travelers there at the time. (I left in 1990, though, so that could have changed.) I enjoyed Spokane when I was married -- great climate, beautiful area -- but it's not a good place to be single!
