VA Interim Staffing Program

Is anyone working for the VA in the Interim Staffing Program (travel) as a Nurse Practitioner? If so what is it like? Assignments? How do they work per diem? Housing? What is the dress code (males)and does the dress code vary at all locations? I have tons of questions? I will post this in the Govern/Mil & Travel areas also. Any answers would be appreciated!!! I have posted this question in 2 other areas!

Appreciate the multi-post alert. Gov or advanced practice will probably yield better responses. For regular travel nurses, the process of signing up directly with the VA takes a long time. Perhaps 6 months from the online scuttlebutt. It could be different for AP of course.

It would be to your benefit to check with agencies, for potential time savings, and more importantly, a reality check on compensation and locations and perhaps venues (and perhaps different specialties you may be qualified in).

Check back with any travel specific questions, particularly about travel companies. Much of our knowledge base won't apply to you because AP and allied health gets treated better. After all, you are a profit center billing for services rendered where regular nurses are an expense item on a facility's balance sheet.
