Single travelers, do u date while traveling?

Sorry for bombarding this forum lately with new threads. I have so much to ask bc I plan on traveling for years to come and want to eventually work for myself, no agency.

I stopped traveling a few years back bc my boyfriend here at home had small kids and could not travel with me, or even skype with me very often. We were getting serious and I did not want to lose him bc of traveling. Well, it finally ended this past Jan. I am 100 percent over him. I am happy, no baggage, no trust issues, no nothing. I am free.

I will never date anyone from work, but I may be open to it if I meet someone from the gym or while biking, etc. But then again, whats the point if I am going to be moving away soon? I am not going to change my plans (travel nursing)for a guy ever again and I want to keep my tax home near my aging parents. How do you older travelers that are mid-30's + meet ppl? Do u date? Do meetup? Or just live freely and not worry about making friends, dating.

I've only dated one coworker ever, happened to be in Seattle at (then) Providence. For some reason, the OR doesn't seem to get women I find attractive, perhaps they find the masks appealing. Pediatric unit nurses seem great, but how do you meet them if you are not a flaming extrovert? All the rest of my dates come from social activities (obviously) which in my case is usually dancing. Of course, attraction on the dance floor doesn't always translate into real life, but it is great when it does.

It is a great goal to travel without an agency (if that is what you meant). I have been doing that for the last 10 years. Not as carefree as my early days traveling, but rewarding in a different way.

I date while on assignments. I meet a lot of people from work (although I don't date those I work with) and then we do group activities which they will bring a friend or family member. I'm also active at the gym, I use meet up to meet up with others that have the same interests I have. I just got into hiking, so I'm looking at joining a hiking group.

I'm not in a relationship at the moment and I enjoy going on dates and exploring the city I'm in with the company of a man I find attractive.

I am pretty sure that I'm heading to Philly next. I plan on joining Meetup for fun, and maybe get some dates. I am not going to join Match or anything.

Just his week, I had to break off date nights with someone that I've known for years because he is not open to living elsewhere because of his job, and I am not interested in living where his quarters are. We were really starting to like eachothers company, so I broke it off now rather than later. I guess dating while on the road may lead to something similiar.
