Considering traveling (OR nurse), would need to take 1 year old. Is this even possible? I don't expect any agency to just hand me child care, but are any agencies at least sympathetic? Ie, would tell me specific area of assignment so I could try to find care? I've never even looked for daycares before, are there daycares that accept children for just 3 months?

I need a fresh start and I need to be financially independent.

I agree with you Paco-RN, specially coming from someone who is looking for help.

I'm not answering your question directly, because I have NO idea in regards to the traveling nursing, but some individual facilities do have daycare that they provide to employees. (I work for one.) If you can, look ahead and call to see about reserving a spot, in case they do offer that service.

Most of the time, they want you to be able to guarantee a month at least in advance, though it is trickier with a three month-old, since many daycares want 12+ months. Many also require you to reserve spots, because they only have so many available, and sometimes, that just doesn't happen. You may have to search for private sitters or home daycares through places like Care.com to see options, because many larger daycares won't always have spots open in classes for kids in that age range, especially for shorter periods of time

I doubt that it's impossible, but it would definitely be a challenge to keep up when you move, since some daycares require two weeks to a month notice when you terminate services.

Good luck! Hope you can find a happy middle ground.
