  1. Hi everybody, I took the nclex 3 months ago, I studied so hard for it that I just couldn't believe I failed it. I did 10K questions from NCSBN, Kaplan book(3x), PDS (3x), read Saunders (2x), Exam cram, etc; yeah I guess I got obsessed and I was studying 14-16 hrs daily with a toddler at home. Anyways, I cried so much and stayed in bed for weeks trying to figure out what went wrong. Well, the thing is that I decided to try again because that is the lesson I have to teach my daughter (never to give up and get up and try again as many times as you have to) but I'm not sure what to try this time, I'm debating between HURST and Kaplan program but since I got all the 265q I'm not sure if that means that I was lacking content knowledge or critical thinking, or both I called Kaplan and they reassure me that if I got 265q it is because I know content but I'm lacking strategy, is that true and always the case? what do you guys think or what has been your experience or what has worked for you after failing with 265q? There were some subjects on the test that I was not familiar with but I have heard that comment from a lot of people who have passed. I wish I could buy both of them but I'm unemployed and cant hardly get the money together for just one review. Thanks for your time and your answers.
  2. I just prayed for you...good luck tomorrow
  3. "Well, that was rude ... " I agree with you Paco-RN, specially coming from someone who is looking for help.
  4. Congratulations...I'm so happy for you, hopefully someday I will be able to tell my happy story :) I failed the first time two months ago with 265 and my weakness was the physiological section (tubes and all that) I have been thinking of studying from NCSBN since I totally agree with you, doing questions is not enough, I did about 10000 of them and I realized they did not good I am definitively lacking content. Anyways, do you think that NCSBN covers enough material or at least the one needed to pass, such as tubes, procedures, etc? Thanks you and good luck, enjoy your success :)
  5. I'm so sorry, I know exactly how you feel because I felt the same way 2 months ago and up until today I'm in denial, I cant afford a review course and I don't know what to study anymore, i gave it my best and I still failed...I had so many plans and now I'm lost, worst part is that nobody in my family understands my pain not even my husband, they think it was my fault and that I'm being too dramatic. Anyways, I'm trying to stay positive and all I can tell you is to give yourself sometime to heal and pray to God everyday to give you the strength and possibility to start preparing again. Look for inspirational stories I read one yesterday about a lady that took it 7 times and she finally passed. Don't give up, she didn't specially if you have your family's support.
  6. Hi. I got a lot of management and quality assurance question but unfortunatelly I failed, I had no idea how to answer those I had 265 about 60 on those type of qs. Do you guys have any suggestions on what source to study from or how did you prepared for those topics? Thank you and congrats!!
  7. Hi Feek, no I haven't enroll because of the same reason, a lot of money, I'm saving $$ to buy it. Are you thinking or getting it soon?
  8. Thank you RN403 and Hdassah16 for your comments because I am not sure what the content in Hurst looks like but now I'm definitively enrolling.
  9. Hi Feek, actually Infection control was my only above passing area and it was because i memorized it from the 35 page review.
  10. Thank you TheCommuter for answering my question. I am going to try HURST, my report stated that I was below passing level in physiological adaptation and I definitively need content review so I guess that is the best way to go
  11. Congratulations!!! and good luck in your new career. I have a question for you. Even though most of the questions were not in Hurst, do you still think it is worth buying the course? Thanks
  12. I have the same question because I am lacking content. Thanks
  13. Good luck 11 and all of you retaking it. I know exactly how anxious you feel, try to stay calm ... we all got this. I will be pray for you.
  14. Hi, I took my exam last May 1 and I failed with 265 and I have been depressed ever since. I studied full time for many months and did about 10K questions. My disadvantage is that I am an international nurse and besides from lacking some critical thinking there was some content that I was not familiar with. Anyways I am trying to stay positive and start studying again, the thing is that I received my report and I was below passing level in physiological adaptation and I took kaplan sample test and I had really low scores in that area 29%. My question is? where should I study the content needed for physiological adaptation from? I am really bad with tubes and procedures and of course I got a lot of questions on that. I read saunders cover to cover twice but did not see much of it and I didnt see those topics in Hurst Lecture material either. Do you guys have any suggestions? Do you know if that material is covered by hurst or kaplan? Please help me I need to pass this test. Thank you.
  15. Thanks for your response. I'm definitively going to get Hurst. I did practice a lot of questions about 7,000 over 6 months, I studied a lot and I was very confident but I'm an international nurse and I think that I approached the test differently. I will try again someday
