San Diego Travel Pay Rates

by BibaRN

Hi, I am looking to take my 1st travel assignment in San Diego. I am interested in what other travelers are making in SD. My recruiter told me that the pay was $25.51 + time and a half for the last 4 hours which would be $12.75 more for hours 8-12. I was looking to make at least $30 base. Is this an unreasonable amount for SD? I am aware that S. Cali pays less than N. Cali, but I wasn't expecting it to be this much less. I want to go to SD specifically b/c I used to live there and have quite a few friends there. Thanks for reading. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently on assignment in San Diego, I work ER. I am making $30/hr base ($35/hr blended). I am also getting free housing, utilities, free insurance with no deductibles, travel/licensure reimbursement, plus I got an extension bonus for renewing my contract. $25.50/hr is very low, even for San Diego.....

I just got offered $27.50 night shift IMC position in San Diego. I was shooting for slightly more, not sure if I"ll take it.

Sharp Hospitals 30-32 blended
Scripps 29-32 blended
Alvardo 30-33 blended
UCSD 28-31 blended

there are out laying hospitals like Palmerado and a few others that may pay a little more or less.

Scripps, I havent heard great things about as far as travelers.
Sharp, I have heard decent things.
UCSD, Been there - LOVED it and it was *def* worth the lower pay rate.
Alvardo - community hospital, low tech - but worth the extra money.

Can't speak for the others.

hope that helps!!
