mississippi

Unfortantely, I live in mississippi! I am trying to find a assignment in Tupelo which is 2 hours from where I live because I do have 3 kids and a single parent. They will be gone to their dads in North Carolina for some of the summer. So I want a assignment close to home. My specialty is OR. Circulating or PACU. I am having the worst time finding anything in Mississippi. But of course, who would want to work here! haha! Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Uh-h-h-h Any reason why you started your message with "Unfortantely, I live in Mississippi!"?

There are many advantages to living in Mississippi, so why are you so negative about it? Are you close enough to another state to MOVE THERE ! ! ! !

Must be something about the south,im trying to get travel nursing in Alabama. Want to be in the southern portion of the state. Some of the agencies misled me and told me there would be work there when I was going through the hiring stage, then all I get is "not much work in Alabama, want to go to California!!"
ummmmm.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...But I have to tell you, one offered ccu work in Jackson Mississippi....Good Luck

What specialty are you in? The hospital I work at as a perm is taking some travelers as well as working with contractors. Troy Regional Medical Center. Troy is a college town about 40 miles south of Montgomery and 2 hours from Panama City Beach. I live 25 miles south of Troy and not many other hospitals are doing this. I think Baptist in Montgomery is working with contractors for specific needs. Troy's number is 334-670-5000. I know OB has 2 contractors, 1 who worked travel too. Call and talk to Jennifer Ventriss, CNO.

Angela, I live about 150 miles from Tupelo, but have been working there since March. I have extended until the end of July. They use American Mobile if you want to get a travel assignment..you can also go to their website and check if they have openings in OR. www.nmhs.net Good Luck! I was losing my butt driving back and forth, but finally got the schedule that is awesome...week on, week off--so now I only have to make that trip once a week
