HI

any suggestions!

I was a school nurse 5 years, then more classes online towards my BSN. I have three years of nursing classes, then headed to surgical nursing. But I was put on light duty after 6 weeks due to neck, arm and back limitations from overlifting within those 6 weeks in surgery. I left before more injury and was in constant pain. FIve months of PT and neurologist visits, lifting a minimal amount now, 20 pounds, carry ten! HOORay

I called one travel agency and stated I want to work in a psy hospital, behavior center, or AODA center as a RN.

Does anyone work as a Pys traveling nurse. What agencies?

I called American Traveler. They stated they usually hire LPN for those jobs, psy or rehab centers. Also I should try to work diem in a hospital for awhile.

Any ideas out there please write.

I am living in a small area with limited work here. Our hospital is so small -- RN's do all, including lifiting. Mostly nursing homes in our area. Has anyone left a nursing home job to become a travel nurse?

THank you

Most travel agencies want you to have at least 2 years recent hospital experience. Some will accept only 1 year.

Look to go to a state where they don't hire a lot of LPNs in hospitals, so that you'll have a better chance making it into Psych.

That's all I can offer right now.
